The muscles of your body are designed to contract in sequence to accomplish proper movement of your joints. This is called a movement pattern. Unfortunately when we have injuries, the proper sequence of muscle contraction is interrupted, resulting in incorrect recruitment of muscles (bad movement pattern). This makes the injury worse and can increase pain. We teach our patients exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique, functional movement problems. These exercises can be performed in the office and/or in the comfort of their own home.
